We shear the Alpacas once a year and the fleece is separated by quality into plastic bags for later processing. We process most of the fleece right here but occasionally we will send it out to have it spun into yarn. (Read more about Alpaca Fiber: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpaca_fiber)
Most of our Fiber is used in a process called Wet Felting. Basically you take raw fiber, add warm water and soap and work it into the shape of your end product. That is, of course, an over simplified explanation of the process.
